Improving Transportation at Tulane University: A Streetcar Fueled by TDM

This summer, our transportation demand management team joined other transportation colleagues at the 2017 ACT International Conference in New Orleans. The ACT is the Association for Commuter Transportation.

The conference features thought leadership on a variety of issues, including transportation trends and innovation, mobility as a service, and improvements in transit.

Our TDM team at Wells + Associates - which seeks to build more transportation choices for commuters, students, and tenants without building more vehicular infrastructure - got to thinking about the ways that New Orleans' Tulane University has boosted their transportation offerings for students and the university community.

Tulane's transportation efforts include a focus on transit, developing a climate action plan, and improvements to bicycle facilities, car-sharing, and transit passes and free bus shuttles.
